My teeth are quite fragile and playing basketball can have a lot of accidental hits to the face (elbows, slaps, scratches). I had to play less aggressive to avoid any risks. After doing some research, I found that NBA players would wear masks after injuries to protect their face but also allowing them to play in the season faster.

I found a research paper describing their process of face scanning the individual and then creating a 3d print. Using a Revopoint Metro X scanner to get my face data and then using Fusion360 to create the final mask system.

The unit was used for at least one game of 10 people. It worked well. I might make a second version that has more breathing space and more coverage over the jaw for when my mouth is open. Otherwise the mask feels great and fits better than a glove.
